ECG
An Electrocardiogram (ECG) is a non-invasive medical test that records the electrical activity of your heart over a period of time. It is commonly used to detect heart problems and monitor the heart’s status in many situations. During an ECG, small electrodes are attached to the skin on your chest, arms, and legs. These electrodes capture the electrical impulses that make your heart beat and send this information to a machine, which produces a detailed graph of your heart's electrical activity. The resulting ECG waveform can help our expert doctors diagnose various conditions such as arrhythmias, poor blood supply to the heart muscle, and other heart disorders. The test is quick, painless, and typically takes only a few minutes to complete.

Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive diagnostic imaging technique used to visualise internal organs and structures within the body. It employs high-frequency sound waves to produce real-time images, which can help in diagnosing and monitoring a variety of medical conditions.
During an ultrasound exam, a handheld device called a transducer is moved over the skin after applying a special gel to enhance sound wave transmission. The transducer emits sound waves that bounce off internal tissues and create echoes, which are then converted into visual images by a computer. Ultrasound is commonly used in pregnancy to monitor fetal development, but it is also useful for examining the heart, blood vessels, kidneys, liver, and other organs.
This procedure is painless, does not use radiation, and typically takes less than 30 minutes.
Our expert gynaecologists use Ultrasound to visualise the womb and ovaries.

Spirometry
Spirometry is a simple, non-invasive test used to assess how well your lungs are functioning. It measures the volume and speed of air you can inhale and exhale, helping to diagnose and monitor conditions like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other respiratory disorders. During the test, you will be asked to take a deep breath and then exhale forcefully into a mouthpiece connected to a spirometer. The device records the amount of air you breathe out and how quickly you do so, providing valuable data on your lung capacity and airflow. Spirometry is quick, typically taking just a few minutes, and is an essential tool for detecting lung problems early and managing ongoing respiratory conditions effectively.

Cardiac Monitoring
Cardiac monitoring is a diagnostic tool used to continuously observe the heart's activity and detect any irregularities in its function. This process involves using specialised equipment to track the heart's electrical activity, rhythm, and rate over an extended period, ranging from 24 hours to several days. The cardiac monitor device records heartbeats and provides detailed information to help diagnose a variety of heart rhythm disorders and palpitations. Cardiac monitoring is non-invasive, allowing patients to go about their daily activities while being monitored. This continuous observation enables our expert doctors to identify problems that might not be evident during a standard ECG, leading to more accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor
Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) is a method used to measure blood pressure continuously over 24 hours while you go about your daily activities and sleep. This test provides a comprehensive overview of how your blood pressure fluctuates throughout the day and night, offering valuable insights that a single, in-office measurement cannot, and is, therefore, the NICE Gold Standard method for diagnosing hypertension. During ABPM, a small, portable device is worn on your belt and connected to a blood pressure cuff on your arm. The device automatically takes blood pressure readings at regular intervals, typically every 15-30 minutes during the day and every 30-60 minutes at night. ABPM is especially useful for diagnosing conditions like white-coat hypertension, masked hypertension, and assessing the effectiveness of hypertension treatments. This test is non-invasive, easy to use, and provides detailed data that helps your doctor make a much more accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.

Phlebotomy
Phlebotomy is the process of drawing blood from a vein, usually for laboratory testing. This common procedure is typically performed by a trained healthcare professional such as a nurse, healthcare assistant or phlebotomist. During the procedure, a small needle is inserted into a vein, usually in the arm, to collect a blood sample. Phlebotomy is essential for diagnosing a wide range of conditions, monitoring health, and guiding treatment decisions. The procedure is quick, usually taking only a few minutes, and causes minimal discomfort. Proper technique and sterile equipment ensure patient safety and accurate test results.
Ear wax removal
Earwax microsuction is a safe and effective method for removing excess earwax from the ear canal. This procedure uses a gentle suction device, guided by a microscope, specialised magnifying equipment or a fibre optic scope, to precisely and painlessly extract earwax buildup. Unlike traditional earwax removal methods like syringing or ear drops, micro-suction provides a clear view of the ear canal, ensuring a thorough and controlled cleaning process. It is especially beneficial for individuals with sensitive ears, perforated eardrums, or those who have had unsuccessful earwax removal with other methods. Earwax microsuction is quick, typically taking less than 15 minutes, and is performed by trained healthcare professionals, providing immediate relief from symptoms like hearing loss, earache, and blockage.
Joint and soft tissue injections
Joint and soft tissue injections are medical treatments designed to relieve pain and inflammation in specific areas of the body. These injections are commonly used to treat conditions such as arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis, and other musculoskeletal issues. The procedure involves injecting a medication, typically a corticosteroid or hyaluronic acid, directly into the affected joint or soft tissue. This targeted approach helps reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, and improve mobility. The procedure is usually quick and minimally invasive, often performed in an outpatient setting. Patients may experience relief shortly after the injection, with effects lasting from weeks to several months. Joint and soft tissue injections are an effective option for managing pain and improving quality of life when other treatments have not provided sufficient relief. Our Private GP provides joint injections for relief of pain in shoulders, knees, hands and toes, while steroid soft tissue injections can provide relief from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Tennis Elbow, Golfer's Elbow, Trochanteric Bursitis, Ischial Bursitis, Gluteal Bursitis, Ischiogluteal Bursitis, and Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome.

Minor surgery
Minor surgery refers to low-risk surgical procedures that are performed at a clinic appointment, not requiring hospital admission. These procedures are often used to diagnose, treat, or remove small skin lesions, cysts, moles, and other minor conditions. Minor surgeries are usually conducted under local anaesthetic, ensuring that the patient remains comfortable and pain-free throughout the process. The recovery time is generally short, with minimal discomfort and a low risk of complications. By offering minor surgery services, our clinic provides patients with convenient and effective treatment options for a variety of skin problems, allowing for quick diagnosis and treatment and a return to daily activities.

Mole screening
Mole screening is a vital preventive health service designed to detect early signs of skin cancer and other skin conditions. During a mole screening, a trained healthcare professional examines your skin for any unusual or suspicious moles, growths, or changes in existing moles. This thorough examination helps identify characteristics that may indicate malignancy, such as asymmetry, irregular borders, varied colour, large diameter, or evolving shape. Early detection through mole screening can significantly improve treatment outcomes for skin cancer, including melanoma. The procedure is quick, non-invasive, and typically performed during a routine office visit. Regular mole screenings are recommended, especially for individuals with a history of sun exposure, fair skin, or a family history of skin cancer.

Audiometry
Audiometry is a comprehensive hearing test that evaluates your ability to hear sounds at various frequencies and intensities. This non-invasive procedure involves wearing headphones and responding to a series of tones. Audiometry helps diagnose hearing loss, determine its severity, and identify the type of hearing impairment, whether it's conductive, sensorineural, or mixed. The results are recorded on an audiogram, a visual representation of your hearing ability, which assists the doctors in diagnosing any deficiencies in the hearing. Screening audiograms are routinely performed as part of many medical assessments including Aviation Medicals.
